Jerold Fimbres Killed in Ambulance Collision on Interstate 10 [Pinal County, AZ]
48-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Rollover Ambulance Crash near State Route 387
PINAL COUNTY, AZ (February 21, 2024) – Sunday morning, Jerold Fimbres, was killed in an ambulance collision on Interstate 10.
Authorities responded to the scene around 6:30 a.m., on the eastbound lanes of the freeway just outside of Casa Grande.
For reasons under investigation, the driver of an ambulance lost control and swerved back and forth across the lanes. The vehicle eventually rolled over before landing back on its wheels.
A man and woman from separate vehicles then stopped to help the two occupants inside the ambulance. There, another passing vehicle struck the ambulance and both Samaritans.
Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced 48-year-old Fimbres dead at the scene. Meanwhile, paramedics transported the female Samaritan to a nearby hospital where she is suspected to survive.
Emergency crews closed off the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. Once available, more details will be provided.
