Cyclist Pronounced Dead after Hit-and-Run Collision near D Street
LAS VEGAS, NV (February 19, 2024) – Early Friday, Kevin Searcy was arrested after a fatal hit-and-run bicycle crash on Lake Mead Boulevard.
Officers responded to the scene around 2:30 a.m., near D Street on February 9th.
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police troopers, they received a report from an RTC bus driver following a hit-and-run crash where a cyclist was left with life-threatening injuries.
Investigators say a Kia Optima driven by 32-year-old Kevin Searcy rear-ended the male cyclist on Losee Road. Upon impact, the cyclist was pushed into the path of a Ford Econoline box-truck. The box-truck driver then stopped for a while before he proceeded to drive away.
Following preliminary duties, police arrested Searcy and took him into the Clark County detention center where he faces hit-and-run charges.
