Families Coming Forward after CooperSurgical Medical Company Recalls Product
CooperSurgical Releases Defective Liquid Product, Destroying Embryos
(February 19, 2024) – Families are coming forward after CooperSurgical Medical Company recalled a product that had been distributed worldwide.
Federal officials made public last week that clinics used three botched lots of liquid on their patients in November and December, destroying potentially thousands of embryos.
Mitchel C. Schiewe, an embryologist and laboratory director at California Fertility Partners believes the number of affected patients could be as many as 20,000.
The Food and Drug Administration posted a recall notice stating that clinics across the United States bought almost 1,000 bottles of the defective liquid.
As a result, families from around the United States have sued one of the most profitable medical companies in the world. The victims are claiming that the liquid was deficient in a key ingredient, Magnesium, causing serious defects.
After Kearsten and Zachary Walden came forward, CooperSurgical Incorporated now faces eight lawsuits regarding the botched liquid I.V.F. If you have used a faulty product from CooperSurgical Inc, you do not have to face the aftermath alone. Collect any documentation you can, and reach out to an attorney as soon as possible.
