Police Still Locating Suspect to Hit-and-Run that Killed One Woman near 26th Street
PHOENIX, AZ (February 16, 2024) – On Friday evening, police responded to a hit-and-run collision near Oak Street that claimed the life of a woman.
The deadly incident happened around 8:00 p.m., February 10th, near the area of Oak and 26th Streets.
Furthermore, the Phoenix police arrived at the scene and they found a female pedestrian downed on the roadway with significant injuries.
Consequently, the responding paramedics transported the woman to the hospital but sadly, she succumbed to her injuries and passed away.
Upon investigation, the troopers learned that the woman was crossing the road in an unmarked crosswalk when she got struck by an SUV headed eastbound on Oak Street.
Moreover, the driver did not stop to provide aid to the woman, and he fled the scene. No details were available about the suspect and the vehicle at this time.
