Rider Killed, One Other Injured in Motorcycle Crash on Avenue 9 [Madera County, CA]
Sedan Vs Motorcycle Collision near Road 30 ½ Left One Fatality
MADERA COUNTY, CA (February 16, 2024) – Tuesday evening, a motorcycle crash on Avenue 9 took the life of one person and left one other hospitalized.
The CHP responded to the collision around 5:40 p.m. in the area of Avenue 9 and Road 30 ½.
According to the investigators, a westbound motorcycle crossed the center line for unknown reasons.
As a result, the rider collided with a black Nissan Altima traveling in the opposing lanes. The authorities also pointed out that the driver was not wearing any protective equipment at the time of the crash.
The first responders declared the motorcyclist dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the Nissan driver was transported to Clovis Community Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
Police are working to determine if drugs and alcohol contributed to the crash. Madera County officials are asking those who witnessed the fatal Avenue 9 motorcycle crash to contact local authorities as soon as possible.
