Pickup Vs Big Rig Collision near SR-198 Resulted in Fatality

KINGS COUNTY, CA (February 15, 2024) – Early Saturday morning, a rear-end crash on Highway 41 claimed the life of a driver. 

The CHP responded to the fatal collision around 12:10 a.m. in the northbound lanes of the highway, south of State Route 198.

Upon arrival, the officers learned that a Ford F-150 crashed at the back of a big rig for unknown reasons. 

The first responders declared the Ford driver dead at the scene. However, the identity of the deceased driver remains undisclosed to the public, pending notification from the next of kin. 

The driver of the big rig did not sustain injuries from the collision. 

In the end, authorities closed the lanes of Highway 41 for several hours as crews cleared up the scene.
