Two Pronounced Dead after Rollover Collision on Eastbound SH 158
MIDLAND COUNTY, TX (February 15, 2024) – Sunday morning, a rollover crash on State Highway 158 killed Jesus Mejia Trejo and Mario Govea Jr.
Officers responded to the scene around 4:40 a.m., on the eastbound lanes of the freeway.
Reports indicate that Braulio Caldarella Lerma was driving a Dodge Ram 2500 pickup-truck at an unsafe speed, with four passengers. The driver was unable to negotiate a curve and eventually veered off the roadway before overturning multiple times.

Meanwhile, paramedics transported the other occupants to a nearby hospital where 21-year-old Govea Jr., later succumbed to his injuries.
In addition, 36-year-old Lerma sustained minor injuries. At this time, an active investigation is ongoing and more information will be provided once available.
