2 Pronounced Dead after Head-On Accident near Breen

HARRIS COUNTY, TX (February 13, 2024) – Thursday morning, a man and a woman died in a head-on collision on Highway 249.

Police responded to the scene around 8:00 a.m., at the 11500 block of the highway, near Breen on January 4th, after reports of a head-on collision.

Emergency crews responded to the scene shortly after.

According to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, one vehicle was occupied by a man and a woman while the other vehicle was occupied rideshare driver and a passenger.

The man and the woman in the first vehicle did not survive their injuries, and they were pronounced dead by responding medical professionals.

Furthermore, a good Samaritan provided aid to one of the adults. The two other people were transported to the hospital with serious injuries, and they were expected to survive.

Following the crash, Sheriff Gonzalez stated that speed contributed to the incident. Also, they blocked the highway for several hours but it was later reopened after the scene was cleared. An active investigation is currently ongoing into the head-on collision on Highway 249.
