Man Killed in Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Collision on Tonopah Drive [Las Vegas, NV]
34-Year-Old Man Fatally Struck in Pedestrian Accident on West Lake Mead Boulevard
LAS VEGAS, NV (February 13, 2024) – Sunday afternoon, one man was killed in a hit-and-run pedestrian collision on Tonopah Drive.
Authorities responded to the scene around 3:30 p.m., near West Lake Mead Boulevard and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard on January 28th.
Reports indicate that the driver of a black 1992 GMC Sierra pickup-truck ran a red light at the intersection. The GMC then struck a pedestrian who was crossing on a green within a marked crosswalk.
Upon impact, the pedestrian was pushed into the eastbound lanes and the driver immediately fled the scene. Medics arrived and pronounced the 34-year-old man dead at the scene.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is searching for the involved GMC Sierra pickup-truck with plate number 958Y18. Meanwhile, authorities blocked all lanes of Lake Mead Boulevard between Comstock and Tonopah Drive.
Witnesses are urged to contact local officers as soon as possible. Once available, further details will be provided.
