Access Bank CEO and Multiple Others Killed in Helicopter Accident near Halloran Springs Road
BAKER, CA (February 13, 2024) – Friday night, a helicopter crash on Interstate 15 killed Nigerian bank CEO Herbert Wigwe and five others.
Authorities responded to the scene shortly after 10:00 a.m., near Halloran Springs Road.
According to The Federal Aviation Administration, the Eurocopter EC-130 was carrying six people when the helicopter went down.
Investigators say the helicopter left Palm Springs Airport around 8:45 a.m., on route to Nevada. However, the events leading up to the crash remain unclear.
First responders pronounced Access Bank CEO, 57-year-old Wigwe and five others deceased. Among the victims were Wigwe’s wife and son.
At this time, the FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board continue to investigate the fatal helicopter crash. Once available, further details will be provided.
