Arturo Munoz Arrested, Woman Dead after Fatal DUI Crash on Planz Road [Bakersfield, CA]
One Killed, Two Injured in Two-Vehicle Collision near Hughes Lane
BAKERSFIELD, CA (February 13, 2024) – Friday evening, Arturo Munoz was arrested and a woman was killed in a fatal DUI crash on Planz Road.
Officers responded to the scene around 11:08 p.m., at the 1900 block of Planz Road near Hughes and White Lane.
Per reports, Munoz was driving a Chevrolet Tahoe east, and struck a white sedan with three occupants inside. Responding medical personnel declared the driver of the white sedan deceased at the scene.
Following preliminary duties, officers determined that the Tahoe driver, 25-year-old Munoz, was under the influence. Police later booked him into the Kern County Jail for homicide and other related charges.
Meanwhile, paramedics transported two other passengers to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
Those who witnessed the fatal collision are asked to contact officers as soon as possible. Once available, further details will be provided.
