Yordi Jose Del Toro Mendoza Dies in 2-Car Accident on Monroe Street [Indio, CA]
29-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Two-Car Collision near Requa Avenue
INDIO, CA (February 12, 2023) – Early Sunday morning, Yordi Jose Del Toro Mendoza was killed in a 2-car accident on Monroe Street.
Police responded to the scene around 2:43 a.m., at the intersection of Monroe Street and Requa Avenue.
At this time, the circumstances that led up to the collision remain unclear. However, one of the drivers was trapped in their vehicle upon impact.
Paramedics rushed the driver to John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The Riverside County Coroner’s Office later identified the deceased victim as 29-year-old Mendoza, of Indio.
In addition, the other driver involved stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. The department’s traffic unit is working to determine whether drugs or alcohol contributed to the crash. Indio Officials will provide more information once available.
