25-Year-Old Man Arrested after Solo-Car Crash near Fern Avenue

FRESNO, CA (February 12, 2024) – Early Monday morning, Cameron Aguilar was arrested after a fatal DUI collision on Maroa Avenue.

Dispatchers received calls around 1:35 a.m., near Fern Avenue.

Officers say the driver of a Ford Fiesta made a westbound turn and veered off the road before crashing in a Dollar Tree parking lot. There, the driver struck two bystanders in the area. 

Responding medical personnel declared one male victim dead at the scene. The female pedestrian standing beside him was transported to a local hospital with unspecified injuries. 

Police determined the driver was under the influence of alcohol, and arrested him. Fresno Officials booked 25-year-old Cameron Aguilar into the Fresno County Jail for gross vehicular manslaughter and multiple other charges.
