Three Pronounced Dead after DUI Motorcycle Collision near Mile Marker 748

SILSBEE, TX (February 12, 2024) – Friday evening, Brenon Proulx was arrested after a fatal motorcycle accident on Farm-to-Market Road 327.

Authorities responded to the scene around 6:30 p.m., near Mile Marker 748 on February 2nd.

Per reports, Proulx was driving a 2006 Saturn Ion west and veered over the eastbound lanes. There, the Saturn struck a 2015 Harley Davidson and a 2005 Harley Davidson.

The 2005 Harley Davidson was operated by 39-year-old James Means and the 2015 Harley Davidson was operated by 37-year-old Allen Wesenberg with a 12-year-old and 7-year-old passenger.

Despite life-saving efforts, Means succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

Meanwhile, Wesenberg and the 12-year-old girl and 7-year-old boy were transported to Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital. Due to the extent of their condition, Wesenberg and the 12-year-old girl later died at the hospital.

Following preliminary duties, authorities arrested 50-year-old Proulx, of Silsbee and booked him into the Hardin County Jail. Proulx faces charges of intoxication manslaughter and three counts of intoxication assault with a $160,000 bond.
