One Hospitalized after Two-Vehicle Accident on State Route 162 [Oroville, CA]
Pickup Collision Near Wilbur Road Resulted in Serious Injuries
OROVILLE, CA (February 8, 2024) – Wednesday afternoon, a two-vehicle accident on State Route 162 sent one person to a hospital.
The collision happened shortly before 1:00 p.m. along SR-162 and Wilbur Road, just west of Oroville Municipal Airport.
According to CHP, a Ford pickup tried to cross the freeway from Wilbur but failed to see an oncoming vehicle.
As a result, the Ford collided with a Chevrolet pickup traveling in an easterly direction.
Responding medical personnel used hydraulic-powered tools to extricate the Chevy driver from the vehicle. Subsequently, they were rushed to Enloe Medical Center for treatment of major injuries.
It was unclear if the Ford driver was injured from the collision. At this time, police do not suspect drugs and alcohol to be invovled in the incident. Anyone with further information is urged to contact local authorities.
Oroville officials continue to investigate the State Route 162 two-vehicle accident.
