Yan Broytman Dies in Semi-Truck Accident on Interstate 20 [Callahan County, TX]
43-Year-Old Man Fatally Struck by Freightliner in Big-Rig Collision near Baird
CALLAHAN COUNTY, TX (February 6, 2024) – Late Sunday morning, Yan Broytman was killed in a semi-truck accident on Interstate 20.
Authorities responded to the scene around 11:10 a.m., on the westbound lanes of the freeway just seven miles east of Baird on January 28th.
Per reports, Broytman was driving a 2017 Freightliner that was towing a Hyundai. Meanwhile, 46-year-old Lewis Edward Clements Jr., of New Market, Virginia was driving a 2011 Freightliner towing a Reitnouer trailer.
Investigators say Broytmann underwent an engine failure and stopped on the westbound lanes for repair. There, Clements Jr. was unable to maintain his lane and struck Broytman.
Upon arrival, the Justice of the Peace Andi Holland pronounced Broytman, of Frisco, Texas dead at the scene.
At this time, an active investigation to determine further information is still currently underway. Once available, more details will be provided.
