BONSALL, CA (February 6, 2024) – Early Wednesday morning, an 86-year-old man was killed in a rollover crash on Interstate 15.
Dispatchers received calls in the area around 7:40 a.m., on the southbound lanes of the freeway near Old Highway 395.
Following preliminary duties, officers determined that the driver of a black Jaguar XF pulled over near Old Highway 396. The Jaguar then collided with a maroon Toyota Venza, causing the Toyota to overturn.
First responders transported the elderly man driving the Toyota to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. At this time, he was only identified as an 86-year-old man, from Fallbrook.
Meanwhile, the 18-year-old woman from Wildomar driving the Jaguar remained uninjured.
Officers do not believe impairment played a factor in the collision. At this time, officials are asking anyone with additional information regarding the fatal rollover crash to contact the Oceanside Area CHP office at 760-643-3400.
