Police Pursuit Ends in Fatal Crash near Cypress Avenue 

FONTANA, CA (February 6, 2024) – Late Saturday night, a high-speed crash on Valley Boulevard left at least two people dead and four others, including police officers, injured. 

Shortly before 11:00 p.m., the police attempted to pull over a white Nissan Sentra in the area of Valley Boulevard and Cypress Avenue. 

Based on the report, the Nissan was being pulled over for multiple vehicle code violations. However, the Nissan driver did not comply, which resulted in a short pursuit exceeding over 90 miles per hour. 

Ultimately, the suspect lost control of the vehicle and collided with the patrol vehicle. 

Responding emergency personnel transported two people from the Nissan to a hospital for life-threatening injuries. Meanwhile, paramedics declared two others from the same vehicle dead at the scene. 

Two officers occupying the patrol vehicle were also hospitalized for treatment of significant injuries. 

At this time, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department is leading the investigation. Fontana Officials will provide more information about the fatal Valley Boulevard high-speed crash once available.
