Rider Pronounced Dead after Two-Vehicle Crash near Nuemarkle Road
BAKERSFIELD, CA (February 6, 2024) – Wednesday afternoon, one rider was fatally struck in a motorcycle accident on Bena Road.
The incident occurred around 12:57 p.m., on the eastbound lanes of the road just east of Nuemarkle Road on January 31st.
According to CHP, a Suzuki off-road motorcycle slowed down and turned left in front of a semi-truck. The semi-truck driver was unable to slow down in time, and struck the rider.
Medical personnel arrived and pronounced the motorcyclist dead at the scene. Although, authorities have not yet released their name or place of residency.
Meanwhile, the 55-year-old man driving the commercial big-rig remained uninjured. Police also said the truck driver pulled over and contacted 911.
No further details regarding the Bena Road motorcycle collision have been released to the public. Bakersfield Officials will provide more information once available.
