Female Driver Pronounced Dead after Big-Rig Collision near McCombs Road
WASCO, CA (February 5, 2024) – Thursday afternoon, one woman suffered fatal injuries in a semi-truck crash on Scofield Avenue.
Officials responded to the scene around 12:40 p.m., near McCombs Road.
Upon arrival, the deputies learned that a semi-trailer truck and a Toyota Corolla collided with each other, just south of the intersection. However, the circumstances leading up to the crash remain unclear.
Responding medical personnel declared an unidentified woman deceased at the scene. Meanwhile, paramedics rushed the Corolla driver to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
The coroner’s office will release the identity of the deceased victim once the next of kin has been notified. Authorities are asking those with additional information regarding the fatal semi-truck crash to contact the Kern County Sheriff’s Office at (661) 861-3110.
