Motorcyclist Pronounced Dead after Three-Vehicle Accident near State Route 531
MARYSVILLE, WA (February 5, 2024) – Early Tuesday morning, one victim suffered fatal injuries in a motorcycle collision on Interstate 5.
Police responded to the scene around 3:00 a.m., on the southbound lanes of the freeway near State Route 531 on January 30th.
Investigators say a motorcyclist was speeding in the area when they were struck by a Jeep. Despite life-saving efforts, medics later pronounced the rider dead at the scene.
Consequently, motorists were directed to exit onto 172nd Street Northeast at milepost 206 near the Smokey Point area. All southbound lanes were blocked for six hours before it was reopened by 9:20 a.m.
