Elderly Man Killed in Head-On Crash on Millerton Road [Fresno County, CA]
78-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Two-Vehicle Collision near Marina Drive
FRESNO COUNTY, CA (February 5, 2024) – Saturday afternoon, an elderly man was killed in a head-on crash on Millerton Road.
Officers responded to the scene near Marina Drive and Table Mountain Casino.
Per reports, the 35-year-old male driver of a blue Chevrolet Silverado was heading west and veered into oncoming lanes. As a result, the Chevy then collided head-on with a white Toyota Tundra.
In addition, multiple witnesses claimed that the Chevy driver was traveling recklessly before the crash. First responders arrived shortly after and declared the 78-year-old male Toyota Tundra driver dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, a passenger inside the Toyota was hospitalized with major injuries. Paramedics also transported the 35-year-old man driving the Chevy to a hospital for treatment of significant injuries.
Investigators are currently working to determine whether intoxication played a role in the incident. Fresno County officials will provide more information about the Millerton Road head-on crash once available.
