23-Year-Old Woman Arrested after DUI Collision near East Canon Perdido Street
SANTA BARBARA, CA (February 1, 2024) – Sunday evening, police arrested Leslie Hernandez after a hit-and-run on North Milpas Street.
Dispatchers responded to the scene around 6:40 p.m., near East Canon Perdido Street.
Officers say the driver of a vehicle lost control and struck a parked car and the driver who was attempting to get inside at the time. Upon impact, the suspect then fled the scene without contacting authorities or rendering aid.
Paramedics arrived shortly after and transported the victim to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital with moderate injuries. Although, police have not yet released their identity.
Following the crash, officers managed to track down the hit-and-run suspect at 700 Spring Street. 23-year-old Leslie Hernandez was arrested for felony DUI and several other charges. Hernandez is currently being held in Santa Barbara County Jail on a $100,000 bail.
