One Fatally Struck in Pedestrian Collision near Central Avenue Northeast
ALBUQUERQUE, NM (February 1, 2024) – Tuesday afternoon, one victim was pronounced dead after a pedestrian crash on Garcia Street.
Authorities responded to the scene near Central Avenue Northeast after receiving multiple dispatch calls.
Officers say the driver of a vehicle was heading east and struck a pedestrian who was on the road. Despite life-saving efforts, medical personnel later pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene.
Emergency crews closed off the surrounding area for a brief time during clearing operations. Crews say impairment did not play a factor.
