Marianieves Vasquez Killed, Sergio Villegas and Kerry Williams Hurt in Car Accident on US 62 [Lubbock, TX]
45-Year-Old Woman Dead, Multiple Hospitalized after Rear-End Collision near County Road 341
LUBBOCK, TX (January 31, 2024) – Wednesday, Marianieves Vasquez died and Sergio Villegas and Kerry Williams were hurt in a crash on US 62.
The incident occurred around 7:30 p.m., near County Road 341.
According to reports, Williams was driving a Toyota Tacoma east on the freeway and rear-ended a Chevrolet Silverado. Upon impact, the Chevy veered off the road and rolled into a ditch.
Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics later pronounced 45-year-old Vasquez, of Seminole dead at the scene.
Paramedics also transported the Chevy driver, Villegas, of Seminole to Covenant Health in Hobbs in stable condition.
Another passenger in the Silverado, a 15-year-old boy was taken to University Medical Center in Lubbock with serious injuries. In addition, medics took 59-year-old Williams, of Hobbs to Covenant in Hobbs.
