Motorcycle Collision on Highway 65 Kills Man [Placer County, CA]
23-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Rear-End Collision near Twelve Bridges Drive
PLACER COUNTY, CA (January 29, 2024) – Tuesday evening, one man was fatally struck in a motorcycle collision on Highway 65.
Officers responded to the southbound lanes of the freeway, just south of Twelve Bridges Drive.
According to CHP, the male rider of a southbound 2000 Honda motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed and rear-ended a 2008 Ford F-250.
The impact of the collision ejected the rider from the motorcycle, causing him to land on the right southbound lane. Shortly after, the motorcyclist was struck by a 2016 Chrysler 300.
Responding medical personnel declared the 23-year-old male rider, from Rocklin dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the 61-year-old Sacramento man driving the Ford and the 74-year-old Rocklin man driving the Chrysler remained uninjured.
Following preliminary duties, police suspect intoxication to be a factor in the collision.
