Female Pedestrian Pronounced Dead after Hit-and-Run Collision near 94th Street
LOS ANGELES, CA (January 26, 2024) – Sunday night, one woman was fatally struck in a pedestrian accident on Vermont Avenue.
Police responded to the scene around 10:45 p.m., near 94th Street.
According to reports, the driver of a speeding vehicle struck two pedestrians who were walking west within a marked crosswalk. One of the pedestrians, described to be a woman in her 20s or 30s, died at the scene.
Medical responders transported the second pedestrian to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
Police said the driver initially fled the scene and abandoned the silver Kia SUV in the area of Vermont Avenue and 90th Street. Authorities are asking those with additional information to contact the LAPD as soon as possible.
