Car Collision Near Winona Way Resulted in Fatality
NORTH HIGHLANDS, CA (January 26, 2024) – Monday morning, a person died and another sustained injuries in a two-vehicle crash on Watt Avenue.
The fatal accident happened around 11:35 a.m. in the area of Watt Avenue and Winona Way.
According to the report, a deputy tried to pull over a vehicle, but the driver sped away before crashing into a van and a light pole.
Responding units from the CHP declared the driver dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the passenger of the runaway vehicle was transported to a hospital for unspecified injuries.
The driver of the van involved sustained minor injuries from the collision. In the end, authorities closed the north and the southbound lanes of Watt Avenue as crews cleared the scene.
