36-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Pedestrian Collision near A Street

SAN RAFAEL, CA (January 25, 2024) – Saturday evening, one man was fatally struck in a pedestrian collision on Second Street. 

The incident occurred shortly before 8:00 p.m., near A Street.

Upon arrival, first responders discovered a man lying in the roadway with significant injuries. Despite life-saving efforts, the 36-year-old man later succumbed to his injuries after being transported to a nearby hospital.

Meanwhile, the involved driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. At this time, authorities do not suspect alcohol or drugs to be a factor in the collision. 

Currently, the department’s Major Accident Investigation Team is leading the investigation. San Rafael officials closed the intersection for several hours as crews cleared the scene.
