26-Year-Old Woman Killed in Head-On Collision near West Cesar Chavez Boulevard

SAN ANTONIO, TX (January 24, 2024) – Early Saturday morning, Yulissa Cristal Valero was killed in a head-on crash on Interstate 35 South.

Police responded to the scene just after 2:00 a.m., near West Cesar Chavez Boulevard on January 13th.

Officers say 25-year-old Christopher Rey Navarro was heading south in the northbound lanes and collided head-on with an oncoming car.

Despite life-saving efforts, medics pronounced 26-year-old Valero dead at the scene. Meanwhile, paramedics transported two others to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.

Furthermore, troopers arrested Navarro after he was treated at the hospital. Navarro was charged with DWI/intoxication with manslaughter, with a bail set at $250,000.
