Motorcycle-Auto Collision Near Highway 135 Kills 31-Year-Old Lompoc Man
ORCUTT, CA (January 24, 2024) – Wednesday evening, a motorcycle accident involving several other vehicles on Highway 1 claimed the life of Yiğit Tokbey.
Emergency personnel responded to the fatal crash around 9:25 p.m. along the southbound lanes of the highway, near Highway 135.
According to the report, a man riding a 2017 Moto Guzzi veered off the roadway and lost control of his motorcycle. Subsequently, the rider stopped in the left lane of the southbound Highway 1 where he was hit by several vehicles.
Responding paramedics from the American Medical Response declared the motorcyclist dead at the scene due to the extent of his injuries.
Later, the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office Coroner’s Bureau identified the deceased rider as 31-year-old Yiğit Tokbey of Lompoc.
