Man Killed after Being Hit by Truck in Deadly Pedestrian Accident

PHOENIX, AZ (January 24, 2024) – Late Wednesday evening, a man died following a crash near 51st Avenue and Camelback Road.

According to the Phoenix Police Officers, the deadly incident happened around 11:30 p.m., January 3rd, involving a male pedestrian and a truck.

Investigation showed that the man was sleeping near a shopping cart at the corner of the road when a truck traveling westbound fatally hit him.

As soon as the first responders arrived, they transported the man to the hospital but sadly, he succumbed to his injuries and died. His identity was not yet known at this time.

Furthermore, the driver was assessed by the officials and he was determined to be impaired. He was processed for DUI, the police added.
