Four Hospitalized after Head-On Accident on State Route 15 [San Diego, CA]
Pursuit Ends in Two-Vehicle Collision Near SR-94, Four People Injured
SAN DIEGO, CA (January 24, 2024) – Tuesday morning, a head-on accident on State Route 15 following a police pursuit left at least four people with injuries.
At around 4:05 a.m., the CHP conducted a registration check on a black Toyota Prius along SR-15, approaching State Route 94.
Upon inspection, the officers discovered that the vehicle’s registration had an active Planned Non-Operation (PNO) status on file.
Subsequently, the CHP initiated a traffic stop as the Toyota merged into the westbound SR-94. The suspect then exited the freeway at 30th Street and ran past a posted stop sign before making a U-turn to re-enter the freeway.
The pursuit eventually ended after the Toyota collided head with a silver Nissan Altima, disabling both cars.
Responding emergency personnel transported four people in the wreckage to a local hospital for minor injuries.
At this time, the authorities are still searching for the suspect who ran off towards F and 32nd Streets after the crash.
