57-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Pedestrian Accident near Highway 1

ORCUTT, CA (January 23, 2024) – Early Saturday evening, Lonell Oliver was killed in a pedestrian collision on Highway 135.

Authorities responded to the scene shortly after 5:00 p.m., near Highway 1 on January 13th.

At this time, the circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear. However, first responders declared the involved pedestrian dead at the scene. 

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office later identified the deceased man as 57-year-old Lonell Oliver, of Lompoc.

It was unclear if the involved sedan driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the authorities. Officers closed the surrounding area on Highway 135 as crews cleared the scene. 

No further details regarding the fatal pedestrian crash have been released to the public. Orcutt Officials will provide more information once available.
