Male Cyclist Pronounced Dead after Fatal Collision near Appleway Trail
SPOKANE VALLEY, WA (January 22, 2024) – Early Friday morning, one man was fatally struck in a bicycle accident on South Evergreen Road.
Police received calls in the area around 5:00 a.m., near Appleway trail on January 12th.
Reports indicate that the driver of a vehicle struck a bicyclist as he was attempting to cross the road. Upon impact, the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
First responders located the bicyclist down on the roadway with life-threatening injuries. Paramedics transported him to a nearby hospital where he later passed away.
Emergency crews closed off the surrounding area for a brief time during clearing operations. Following preliminary duties, officers ruled out speed and impairment as potential factors.
