Female Pedestrian Killed in Fatal Crash near Ashland Avenue
SANTA MONICA, CA (January 17, 2024) – Early Saturday morning, one woman was fatally struck in a pedestrian collision on Lincoln Boulevard.
Authorities responded to the scene around 1:50 a.m., at the 2900 block of Lincoln Boulevard near Ashland Avenue.
Based on the initial investigation, the driver of a southbound vehicle struck a pedestrian who was pushing a cart in the southbound lanes.
First responders declared the pedestrian dead at the scene. Officials only identified the deceased victim as a woman in her 50s who appeared to be homeless.
Meanwhile, the involved driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Police do not suspect drugs and alcohol to be a factor in the incident.
