Man Killed in Pedestrian Collision on East Freeway [Houston, TX]
One Pronounced Dead after Pedestrian Accident near Sheldon
HOUSTON, TX (January 17, 2024) – Saturday night, one male victim was killed in a pedestrian collision on East Freeway.
Around 10:00 p.m., police responded to the scene at the 16000 block of East Freeway near Sheldon.
Investigators say a male pedestrian was pushing a bicycle across the freeway. There, the driver of a gray Nissan Versa swerved left and knocked the man down. The driver of a second vehicle then struck the man and continued driving without rending aid or contacting police.
Emergency crews found car parts at the scene, tracing to a 2019-2021 Honda Civic.
Meanwhile, the driver of the Nissan remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
