29-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after DUI Pedestrian Collision near Cameron Street
LAS VEGAS, NV (January 17, 2024) – Saturday, one man died and Jair Rebollo-Castrejon was arrested after a DUI collision on Tropicana Avenue.
Police responded to the scene around 4:30 a.m., just west of Cameron Street on December 30th.
According to reports, the driver of a white 2008 white Ford F-250 was heading west and veered onto the sidewalk. There, the Ford struck a 30-year-old man who was standing on the sidewalk.
In addition, the Ford struck a Las Vegas Valley Water protective box and water supply line, an NV Energy power pole, and an iron fence. The driver then reversed back onto the road and fled westbound.
Despite life-saving efforts, crews later pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene. Although, authorities have not yet released his identity.
Officers eventually located the abandoned Ford in the northeast valley. Authorities later arrested 23-year-old Jair Rebollo-Castrejon on hit-and-run and DUI related charges.
