25-Year-Old Male Driver Pronounced Dead after Big-Rig Accident near Dos Pueblos Canyon Road

SANTA BARBARA, CA (January 15, 2024) – Friday morning, Thomas McGregor was killed in a pickup-truck vs semi-truck collision on Highway 101.

The incident occurred on the southbound lanes of the freeway around 2:50 a.m., just north of Dos Pueblos Canyon Road. Dispatchers responded to the scene shortly after.

For reasons under investigation, the driver of a pickup-truck and a semi-truck collided in the area, causing the pickup-truck to catch fire. Responding medics pronounced the male pickup-truck driver dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, the semi-truck driver sustained only minor injuries. Authorities have not yet released the identities of those involved.

Emergency crews closed off the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. Once available, more details will be provided.
