Israel Claros Arrested after Fatal Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Crash on East Tropicana Avenue [Las Vegas, NV]
42-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Pedestrian Collision near Rollingwood Circle
LAS VEGAS, NV (January 15, 2024) – Tuesday, Israel Claros was arrested and a man was killed in a pedestrian crash on East Tropicana Avenue.
Dispatchers responded to the scene around 5:30 p.m., just west of Rollingwood Circle on January 9th.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department learned that 62-year-old Claros was driving a 2017 Toyota Corolla west on Tropicana Avenue.
There, Claros struck a pedestrian who was crossing outside of a marked crosswalk and continued driving without contacting authorities.
Paramedics arrived shortly after and transported the 42-year-old male pedestrian to Sunrise Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Following preliminary duties, an officer spotted the Toyota and charged Claros with suspicion of failure to stop at the scene of a crash. At this time, an active investigation to determine further information is still currently underway. Once available, more details will be provided.
