Two Men Pronounced Dead after Wrong-Way Accident near Broadway
SANTA MARIA, CA (January 15, 2024) – Saturday night, Arnol Hernandez Zuniga and Adrian Rojas-Ramirez died in a head-on crash on Highway 101.
First responders arrived to the scene around 11:30 p.m., on the northbound lanes of the freeway near Broadway on December 30th.
Upon arrival, officers determined that a 2003 Nissan Murano was traveling south in the northbound lanes. As a result, the Nissan collided head-on with a 2013 Toyota Highlander, driven by a 37-year-old man.
Medical personnel pronounced both occupants from inside the Nissan, 30-year-old Zuniga and 30-year-old Rojas-Ramirez dead at the scene.
In addition, paramedics transported the driver of the Highlander to Marian Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.
Troopers blocked all northbound lanes while traffic was directed to Donovan Road. Once available, more details will be provided.
