36-Year-Old DUI Suspect Arrested after Red-Light Accident on Grand Cadence Drive
HENDERSON, NV (January 12, 2024) – Sunday evening, Darryl Smith was arrested after a fatal DUI crash on Lake Mead Parkway.
Around 6:00 a.m., police responded to the scene near Grand Cadence Drive just east of Boulder Highway on December 31st.
Officers say a 38-year-old woman was stopped at a red light with her two young sons in the vehicle. There, 36-year-old Smith was traveling at high speeds and rear-ended the woman’s car.
All three occupants inside the woman’s vehicle succumbed to their injuries at the scene. Police have not yet released their identities.
Authorities later arrested Smith and booked him into the Henderson Detention Center where he faces three counts of DUI resulting in death and one count of reckless driving resulting in death.
