Emilio Carbajal Cruz Killed in Multi-Vehicle Collision on 14 Freeway [Santa Clarita, CA]
27-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after 3-Vehicle Collision near Newhall Avenue
SANTA CLARITA, CA (January 11, 2024) – Early Sunday morning, Emilio Carbajal Cruz was killed in a multi-vehicle collision on 14 Freeway.
The incident occurred around 1:35 a.m., on the southbound lanes of the freeway near Newhall Avenue.
According to California Highway Patrol, the circumstances leading up to the incident remain under investigation.
However, reports indicate that the wreckage involved a white Chevrolet Camaro and two other vehicles. Due to the extent of injuries sustained, first responders declared one person dead at the scene. The medical examiner’s office later identified the deceased driver as 27-year-old Emilio Carbajal Cruz.
In addition, paramedics took another victim to a nearby hospital in critical condition. Santa Clarita Officials issued a SigAlert in the No., 2, 3, and 4 lanes of the southbound 14 Freeway as crews cleared the scene.
