1 Killed in Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Crash on International Boulevard [Oakland, CA]
One Pronounced Dead after Pedestrian Collision near 42nd Avenue
OAKLAND, CA (January 11, 2024) – Early Monday morning, one victim was killed in a hit-and-run pedestrian crash on International Boulevard.
Authorities responded to the scene around 12:45 a.m., at the 4200 block of International Boulevard near 42nd Avenue.
Officers say the driver of a vehicle was doing donuts and jumped a curb. There, the vehicle struck a pedestrian who was standing on the sidewalk.
Responding medical personnel transported the pedestrian to a hospital where they succumbed to their injuries. However, their identity remains undisclosed to the public.
Crews say the involved driver fled the scene without rendering aid or contacting police. Oakland Officials are asking those with additional information about the fatal International Boulevard hit-and-run crash to contact the department’s traffic investigation unit at (510) 777-8570.
