2 Pronounced Dead after Rollover Crash near Turlock Lake State Recreation Area
STANISLAUS COUNTY, CA (January 10, 2024) – Monday morning, Danny Reyes and Leilani Romayor-Bettencourt died in a rollover crash on Lake Road.
Dispatchers arrived around 3:40 a.m., just east of Roberts Ferry Road and the Turlock Lake State Recreation Area on January 1st.
Investigators say 23-year-old Isaac Urbeana was driving a 2017 Toyota sedan with his passengers, 21-year-old Amber Sauls, 28-year-old Reyes, and 23-year-old Romayor-Bettencourt.
Deputies learned that Urbeana failed to turn at a right bend causing the vehicle to overturn. The crash ended up taking the lives of Reyes and Romayor-Bettencourt.
Meanwhile, paramedics took Urbeana and Sauls to Doctor’s Medical Center for further treatment.
Following preliminary duties, police arrested Urbeana and charged him with DUI and suspicion of two counts of gross vehicular manslaughter.
