35-Year-Old Woman Dead in Reckless Accident near McDowell Road

GOODYEAR, AZ (January 9, 2024) – On Tuesday evening, police responded to a crash that claimed the life of Vanessa Flor-Garcia.

The incident happened on January 2nd just before 9:00 p.m. near the area of Pebble Creek Parkway and McDowell Road.

According to the Goodyear Police Department, they spotted a stolen vehicle headed west on Indian School Road at high speeds when it ran over a red light at the intersection at Lichfield Road and crashed into another vehicle.

Furthermore, the stolen vehicle overturned several times, causing a woman to be ejected. Authorities later identified the woman as 35-year-old Vanessa Flor-Garcia, and the driver was identified as 47-year-old Shondale Kyles.

Kyles fled the scene by foot but he was later caught by the police and was held captive. Flor-Garcia was transported to the hospital with critical injuries, but sadly, she succumbed and passed away.

Consequently, Kyles stole another vehicle in a parking lot and also crashed into another vehicle. Police arrested Kyles and charged him with manslaughter, vehicle theft, and leaving the scene of a fatal accident.

No other injuries were reported, and the incident is currently under investigation.
