Rachael Leigh Etheridge Killed in Traffic Crash near State Highway 114 [Smyer, TX]
32-Year-Old Woman Died in Two-Vehicle Accident near FM 168
SMYER, TX (January 9, 2024) – Late Tuesday morning, police responded to a two-vehicle crash that killed Rachael Leigh Etheridge.
The incident took place near the intersection of State Highway 114 and Farm to Market Road 168 just before noon, on January 2nd.
According to the Hockley County Police Department, 32-year-old Etheridge was traveling northbound on FM 168 when she failed to yield at a red light and collided with another vehicle driven by 64-year-old Adriana Samarron.
Unfortunately, the collision immediately claimed the life of Etheridge while Samarron suffered major wounds. She was transported to Covenant Medical Center.
Furthermore, the troopers blocked the intersection during the length of the incident. All lanes were reopened following the crash.
