23-Year-Old Woman Pronounced Dead after Pedestrian Collision near Center Street
POMONA, CA (January 9, 2023) – Early Monday morning, Khailyn Garcia Sanchez died and Isabella Ortega was arrested after a hit-and-run.
Dispatchers received calls in the area around 1:30 a.m., near Center Street.
At this time, reports indicate that 20-year-old Ortega was driving a vehicle and struck a pedestrian in the area. Upon impact, Ortega fled the scene without rendering aid or contacting authorities.
Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics transported 23-year-old Sanchez to a nearby hospital where she later died.
Meanwhile, police arrested the involved driver at her residence in Rancho Cucamonga. 20-year-old Isabella Ortega is now charged with suspected hit-and-run and vehicular manslaughter with an $80,000 bail.
