46-Year-Old Man Killed after Being Hit by Vehicle near McDowell Road
PHOENIX, AZ (January 4, 2024) – Late Sunday evening, a hit-and-run crash near 83rd Avenue claimed the life of Gabriel Cruz.
The incident happened on New Year’s Eve, around 11:40 p.m., December 31st, near the 83rd Avenue and McDowell Road area.
According to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s officials, 46-year-old Cruz got into a verbal fight with another driver and he went into the traffic lanes.
Cruz was then struck by a suspected dark-colored Dodge Challenger which later fled the scene.
Furthermore, the first responders arrived at the scene and immediately transported Cruz to the hospital with critical injuries.
Unfortunately, Cruz passed away due to the severity of his injuries. Authorities are still looking for the suspect, and anyone with information is encouraged to contact the investigators.
