44-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Pedestrian Collision near College Avenue
MODESTO, CA (December 28, 2023) – Friday evening, Anton Cooley was fatally struck in a pedestrian crash on Bowen Avenue.
Police officers responded to the scene around 5:30 p.m., near College Avenue.
According to reports, the driver of a 2005 Honda Civic failed to avoid a pedestrian that was crossing College Avenue. Responding medical personnel transported the male victim to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
Due to the extent of injuries sustained, the department’s Traffic Safety Unit later announced the pedestrian dead. Authorities identified the deceased victim as 44-year-old Anton Cooley.
Police said the female Honda driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
